We had the great pleasure of photographing the Berenz family this past Sunday. Brian, Amber and little Owen did a fantastic job and were so easy to work with! Owen is 10 and a half months old...and honestly, couldn't be any cuter. Andrew and I photographed Amber's sister, Anna's wedding a couple of years ago...and this June we'll be photographing Brian's brother, Andrew's wedding! In our industry referrals are the best compliment...so we feel so very fortunate to continue to work with the family and friends of our past and present clients. Here are a few of our favorite pictures from the session...Enjoy!

Okay...I mean seriously! Owen is one cute baby!

Owen was a bit serious during the session...but we were able to get a few great smiles. I love his expression in this one. I don't think he was quite sure why these people were pointing big cameras at him.

There is that serious face again. I'm pretty sure Andrew gets this same expression from me when he trys really hard to be funny...but fails miserably! HA! :)

Boettcher Mansion Wedding Photography | Golden Wedding Photography | Liz and Kris

Andrew and I are so lucky! We get to see people on what is quite possibly one of the happiest days of their life...and Liz and Kris were no exception. We photographed their engagement pictures in Breckenridge earlier this winter and soon realized that these two were made for each other. Their zest for life and love of laughter will certainly create many happy memories in the years to come. Liz and Kris were married at the First United Methodist Church in Golden and then danced the night away up at the Boettcher Mansion. Here are some of our favorites from the big day...

Liz started the day with some beautifying at the Golden Hotel. Her gorgeous bridal gown was from Anna Be and I loved her golden ballet flats!

Makeup time...

Liz was so excited when she was getting into her dress...she just kept clapping and saying "YAY" :) So cute!

Liz clearly got her great smile and infectious laugh from her Mother...love this moment between the two.

Lisa Anderson with Sweet Pea Flowers did a fabulous job (as always) with all of the flowers for the wedding.

We arrived to a winter wonderland up at the Boettcher Mansion. There was a perfect dusting of snow on all of the evergreen trees! It was absolutely stunning!

Liz and Kris were troopers - letting us take a few pictures outside in the snow! Thanks guys!

I love the way Liz is peeking at the camera in the picture on the right.

Occasions by Sandy and Sweet Pea Flowers did a fantastic job of turning the Boettcher Mansion into a dream of pretty golds, ivory and burgundy. The room was breathtaking and the food was even better!

Liz and Kris' favorite cookies were the perfect substitute for a cake!

The last "official" dance of the night was reserved for Liz's grandparents. I'm not sure who enjoyed it more...the grandparents or the bride and groom. They were too cute!

Andrew and I photographed a beautiful snowy Colorado wedding this past weekend. It was definitely chilly on Saturday, but nothing could damper the spirits of Liz and Kris as they gathered with family and friends to celebrate their union. Andrew and I had the great pleasure of photographing the Lind family yesterday. Lainey and Trent just welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Logan into the world! She might be the cutest thing I've ever seen...Andrew had to fight to get around me to take a good picture...I swear I could've spent all day staring at her! Congratulations Lainey and Trent! We wish you all the best in the upcoming years and we can't wait to see Logan grow up! Here are a few of our favorites from the day...

Andrew and I had a blast shooting with models Shannon and Dalia from Premier Image Agency this weekend! These ladies showed off the exceptional talent of some of our favorite vendors - while looking stunning for photos!

Janine Schmenk (Makeup by Janine) did an amazing job with the ladies makeup. Their skin was glowing! Hairstylist Bre Osa (Salon Bre) did a fabulous job on the ladies hair as well! Lisa Anderson (Sweet Pea Flowers) put together this beautiful bouquet and heart-shaped wreath. I love the yellow and gray color scheme - maybe one of my favorites!!

Little Rock Wedding Photography | Albert Pike Hotel Wedding Photography | Jon and Mollie

Andrew and I have recovered from our amazing trip to Little Rock, Arkansas for Jon and Mollie's wedding. After shooting their engagement pictures in a near blizzard...we were sure that their wedding day would have nice weather. Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Monday were sunny and warm...but Saturday was cold and rainy! :( No worries though, Jon and Mollie were such great troopers and we were able to get some amazing pictures outside in the rain! Jon and Mollie are two of our closest friends...in fact, Andrew was one of the groomsmen! They were married at the Albert Pike Hotel and we feel so blessed to have witnessed the union of two incredible people. We are so excited to see where life takes them and to be a part of the many adventures to come. Here are a few of our favorites from their big day...

Mollie found this beautiful wedding dress at Anna Be in Denver, Colorado. The Little Black Dress Brigade did a fabulous job with the flowers for the wedding.

Mollie's vintage veil was a bit of a pain to get pinned in...but it turned out just perfect!

There was a really cool building across the street from the Albert Pike Hotel...it provided us with some coverage from the rain!

Hilarious! Mollie wore Patagonia socks with her adorable flats! It's as if she was born to live in Colorado! We love it! :)

Why You NEED to Read Linchpin by Seth Godin...

First of all if you havenandrsquo;t ready anything by Seth Godin you cold very easily start with his blog which contains daily bits of genius information. You could also start by reading any of his dozen books that heandrsquo;s written. They are easy to read (not a bad thing) simplistically genius and thought provoking at their core.

If you ready anything that he writes and donandrsquo;t have a thought about it...well maybe heandrsquo;s not for you. But if you do read what he writes and it strikes a chord (as it does with me) than you should continue reading. His writing is a mix of business/marketing/motivation/change/leadership advice. I think the heart of what he writes is about making you successful and allowing you to think in a new way and expand your vision of what you think is possible.

His most recent book entitled Linchpin is my favorite, his best and I believe his most important. He is more critical of the status quo than at any other point in his writing. He is more motivational than at any other point in his writing. There is more urgency than at any other point in his writing.

Today our economy is very different than it was only a year ago and drastically different than it was 10 or 50 years ago. The methods that we used to make us successful in years past donandrsquo;t work anymore. If this last year has taught us anything it is that not even the safe jobsandrdquo; are safe. Anyone can lose their job, anyone can get fired but anyone can find their true talents and utilize them. And in fact your only choice is to find your talents, discover what youandrsquo;re passionate about and be original. That is how the successful people of the future are going to act. You need to find that passion within yourself, let it out and then share it with everyone who will listen. There are now millions of people out there without a job and probably little chance of getting that same job. Those people need to do something different.

He argues that to be successful and happy in this new world we MUST stand out, we must be unique and we must share our talents and gifts...our art...with everyone. We canandrsquo;t be successful anymore with a factory workerandrdquo; mentality. It is time for people to stand up, to have original thoughts, to be provocative and to become indispensable. I certainly canandrsquo;t discuss the whole book here, although I would like to, but what I can say is that you NEED to read it.

Hereandrsquo;s who I think should read it...

I think every kid in high school and college should read it.
I think anyone who is unhappy with their current job should read it.
I think anyone who wants to be great should read it.
I think anyone who has an original idea should read it.
I think anyone who wants to stand out should read it.
I think anyone who wants to be successful should read it.
I think anyone who has heard that voice in the back of their head saying stop, itandrsquo;s too scaryandrdquo; should read it.
I think anyone who has overcome fear and anxiety should read it.
I think we all should read it.
I think YOU should read it.

What do wedding photographers do in their spare time?

I'm sure everyone thinks we live a glamorous and exciting life filled with expensive cars, trips around the world, diamonds and champagne. Actually it's more like Chick-Fil-A, a Toyota Highlander and trips to Little Rock...but I digress. Honestly though Jessica and I love our life and we spend a lot of time trying to laugh and genuinely enjoy our days together. We always look for ways to laugh and entertain ourselves. So last week we were eating lunch in our car and I threw down a challenge to Jess. Now she can't pass up a great competition so she accepted. I'll lay out the scneario for you but the videos tell the true story. I told her if she could throw an apple core out the window and into the dumpster I would give her $100. So watch and see what happens...(the videos are only about 30 seconds.)

She made a valiant attempt but she was unsuccessful. Disclaimer---I got out of the car and put the apple core in the trash so there was no littering that happened in the making of this video.

VOWS Wedding Collective | Colorado Weddings | Denver Weddings | Launch Party

We've all had a chance to recover from the rush of moving into the Vows space and planning the launch party and we thought we'd share some pictures from the party with all of you! Thank you to all of our guests who ventured out in the snow to attend this event! We were so pleased with the turnout and are incredibly excited that the space is open. A huge thanks to Heather M. Matthews with Fortuitous Photography for photographing the event and capturing so many of the amazing pictures shown below.

Bridal Fashion Photography | VOWS Wedding Collective Launch Party | These Models Rocked It!

Andrew and I would like to send out a big thanks to everyone that made it out to the VOWS launch party on Wednesday night! It was a huge success and we were so excited to see so many people come out - in the snow none the less! You all are hard core! :) Wednesday was a bit of a whirlwind - but Andrew and I were fortunate enough to photograph some amazing models before the party and fashion show began. These models rocked it! A huge thanks to Kerri Butler with A Touch of Bliss for letting us use her adorable shabby chic chairs and to Premier Image Agency for the fabulous models! We'll leave you with a few of our favorites from the shoot.

Janine Schmenk with Makeup by Janine did a fabulous job with all of the models makeup and Bre Osa with Salon Bre did a fantastic job with all of the models hair. If you are planning a wedding and searching for an incredibly talented and fun-loving makeup artist or hairstylist...Janine and Bre are your girls! Great job, ladies - the makeup and hair looked absolutely AMAZING!!

Lisa Anderson of Sweet Pea Flowers made the fabulous bouquets for the models. Definitely go check out her work! She is so much fun to work with and super talented!

The beautiful wedding gowns were provided by the Little White Dress Bridal Shop. The owner of the Little White Dress Bridal Shop, Cate Malone and her staff did an incredible job of choosing the gorgeous gowns and accessories for the models to wear.

Al's Formal Wear of Cherry Creek provided the male models with tuxes - they looked awesome! Plus, I think the ladies liked getting a glass of champagne handed to them by two attractive men in tuxes as they walked in the door on Wednesday night! :) Who wouldn't like that - sorry Andrew! :)
